Update on Game (Still thinking of Name)

At this point, my game is very rapidly gaining completion. Pictured above is the first level, which is still  being made, but is nearly finished. Some subtle effects have been added to the sphere, giving it a small glow to help keep the player's eyes on it. The GUI is also present.

Originally, this GUI was only present for level 1. I have made it available in every level, while updating the levels themselves. The most completed level by far is Snowman Peak, which has some updates below.

Snowman Peak has a white and blue ball with an icy glow, and features green stars to guide the player through the map. More cubes may be added. The GUI is also present

This level is more maze like than the last. This is an overshot of the level.

I have added the snowman, who I made in Maya, to this level as an object (GDD202 progress as well)

A larger snowman is the level's namesake!
In addition, I have previews of the 3-5 levels.
Abandoned Canyon will feature weapons and rocky, science-y feel- it will be like a toxic waste plant- the level will be flatter and you'll have to actually look around the level to find the blocks. I am preparing models of turrets and lasers to give the level a more science feel.

As of right now, the level is fairly plain- I will add more when I get the models finished. The feel needs to be more toxic.

Infinity Mountain has a rough and vicious landscape. The player must master jump mechanics to get to the top of the mountain to receive all the blocks, as well as find many on the bottom of the map. The player is a fiery red.

Pumpkin Valley is a reference to my 2DRPG, and features many pumpkins and a spooky atmosphere. This level will have most of the blocks in obvious places, but the player will have to master bouncing around the map to get them. I plan to add tombstones to this world.

The GUI is present in all levels. I don't know if I'll add more than 14 blocks to each level.

I have an end level in the works- more updates soon!

Update on Adventure Game

My game is going to be an adventure game. You, as the ball, have to travel through areas, collecting cubes (placeholder in case I change the object) throughout the world. As you go through the worlds, you collect the cubes and collecting them all completes a level. The levels get bigger and more challenging to navigate as time goes on, and soon I will figure out how to level up the amount of cubes.
The levels so far as seen below:

1. Grassy Canyon
2. Icicle Mountains
3. Toxic Waste Plant
4. Burning Mountain
5. Pumpkin Peak (a call back to my 2DRPG)

I may do more levels if I get the chance. I'm currently making props to add to each level including:
  • Nice wooden benches and other scenery to Level 1
  • Snowmen to Level 2
  • Turrets and Laser machinery to Level 3
  • I don't know about Level 4 yet, lava is a hard theme to work with.
  • Level 5 will have pumpkins and gravestones. Possibly skulls.
